I am Jordi Folch Dávila. I was born in Barcelona in 1976.
Thanks to my father’s love of photography I start to take pictures when I was still a child, with an old medium format Rolleiflex.
I studied Image and Sound at EMAV school in Barcelona and later I specialized in Photojournalism at GrisART school.
During some months I was in England practicing English and there I did my first collaborations in a local press, Warminster Journal.
When I returned to Barcelona I start working for La Vanguardia Ediciones and all its magazines and supplements. This assignment gave me the opportunity to work for Revista Interiores, one of the most important decoration magazine in Spain and South America.
During 10 years I combined the reports of interior design with those of travel, portraits and gastronomy in magazines like Que fem?, Historia y vida, Descobrir Catalunya, Playboy, Súpers, Foodie Culture Barcelona, RACC or travel guides.
When I finished my collaboration with the press I become head of photography at the luxury real estate Engels & Volkers agency, an opportunity that allowed me to specialize in the photography of luxury houses and meet a multitude of architects, builders and interior designers. This gave me the opportunity to continue my work as a photographer freelance.
Nowadays I work for several related firms with the architecture world, interior design and decoration (Vilablanch, Mínim, Bulthaup, Azul Acocsa, Bonavista, Bauhaus, Alcampo, Roldán Berenguer or Nexdom) and for luxury real estate companies (Lucas Fox, VDB or Kretz , this last with a lot success in France by his reality show on Netflix “The Parisian Agency”).
I follow publishing reports in interior design magazines, on paper as in digital, such as AD, Interiores, El Mueble, Hola or Houzz (the leading online platform in the sector of design , architecture, decoration and home renovations). My reports have been published in countries such as Japan, Singapore, United States, Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand or Australia .
In 2022 I was finalist in the LUX photography awards of architecture and interior design.
One of the engines of my life, aside from my family, is the passion for a well done job.
Hope my photographs are a good example.
